Around 33 people died and more than thirty people are still missing in the landslide that occurred in various western parts of Taplejung. Taplegunj was triggered by the heavy rainfall from since Wednesday evening.  Twelve people died in various 6 VDCs of Taplejung in the landslide after these places received the heavy rainfall since Wednesday. Dozens of people and the cattle are buried due to the landslide. Chameli Limbu and Manamaya Limbu of Lingtepa, Devendra Liwang of Liwang, Sabin Maden and Basant BK of Khokling are ascertained among the dead.  Liwang, Thokling, Thinglabu and Lingket VDCs are severely affected by the landslip. In the same, some wards of Khalung and Khokling VDCs have also been affected. More than two dozen houses in the six VDCs are reported to be washed away by the mudslip.
